I thought I’d do something a little different and just speak on some issues regarding cannabis. Warning, I am totally rambling!
The first issue is re: Fairness in re: to access to meds and how cannabis is portrayed. A lot of patients have issues dealing with money-grubbing cannabis dispensaries, as well as fraudulent review sites that mislead patients into purchasing from some of these sketchy dispensaries, when they otherwise wouldn’t. I then go into a more specific issue of balance of usage and make a note that cannabis, although we love it, does have some negative side effects if you “over use” it. I support cannabis wholeheartedly, but I also realize that there are some negatives that really need to be explained and discussed. I touch on a few things that I haven’t really heard any other activists talk about. Tell me what you think!
Check out this great episode of TYT’s “The Point” —
From the video description: “What is behind the war on cannabis (both medicinal and recreational) and will marijuana ever be legalized? What are the effects of smoking weed? Where does President Obama stand? John Fugelsang (Political Comedian) leads this week’s panel on ‘The Point’ to discuss these issues and more with Cornell Reid (Comedian), Dave Brian (Editor – The 420 Times), and Sam Humeid (Owner – Perennial Holistic Wellness Center). Special thanks to Steve Elliott (Author – “The Little Black Book of Marijuana”), and Dr. Igor Grant (Professor of Psychiatry – UC San Diego) for sending in points.

Check out this FULL LENGTH documentary, A NORML LIFE (2011) – all about the state of medical marijuana in the US today.
From the description: “A NORML LIFE documentary on the current state of medical marijuana in America. Personal stories from patients, doctors and caregivers verify its medical effectiveness while leading activist rally support to end prohibition.
Chris Burry …. associate producer
Peter Darling …. associate producer
Rod Pitman …. executive producer
Doug Ross …. producer
A NORML Life, goes beyond the recitation of facts and figures to capture the beating heart of the legalization movement, in all its passion, its commitment and its excitement.
It’s an extraordinary job by Pitman, producer Doug Ross and a rich cast of cannabis characters including Seattle Hempfest founder Vivian McPeak (who, near the beginning of the show, rightly says America’s marijuana laws are “fixing a problem that never existed,”), and it wastes no time in going for the emotional resonance which is the reason many of us are involved in this movement.
The documentary, which compellingly tells the proud story of advocates fighting for the legalization of marijuana, was released by Cinema Libre Studios on DVD last week. The film presents a strong case that the use of medical marijuana is effective, and that it is a safe alternative to pharmaceutical medicines.
Disclaimer: This documentary and information is for entertainment only. Marijuana laws vary from State to State and Country to Country. In many growing and possessing marijuana is illegal. By no means is this an endorsement to break or violate any laws.”

Recently, Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Paul Ryan spoke out that he personally believes that the legalization of medical marijuana should be handled by the states. Will President Obama follow suit and support his original pre-elected stance to leave medical marijuana legalization to the states? Coming into office, Obama made many promises to leave the state programs alone, but as we all know, his administration went ahead attacking California and Colorado dispensaries, as well as others. This created very little safe access to cannabis for patients. We all hope Obama makes good on his original promise!

I’m back with one of the most popular and best performing vaporizers out there – the Silver Surfer Vaporizer! I got mine a few weeks ago and wanted to give it a lot of solo practice before giving you all a review, as I’d previously only tried it a few times. Although this is meant to be used to tobacco or other herbs, I think it is perfect for medical marijuana patients to use as a cannabis vaporizer. Extremely customizable from the graphics to the hose to the baseplate and even the heat cover – it’s hard to not drool over this thing. With great warrantees, extremely durable aluminum housing and a quick-heat ceramic heating element, this vaporizer is definitely among the top vapes out there. And as always, don’t forget to check out my website for all of my video reviews, medical marijuana news, live chat and more!
As much as I would support Obama over Romney – the fact remains that the DEA under this administration has raided over four times as many medical marijuana dispensaries as the DEA under Bush in his entire 8 year term. This is a direct contradiction of Obama’s promise to leave states alone. Hopefully, if elected for a second term, we will see more humane treatment of patients and get safer access. The video goes into it more. Thanks to MOXNews.com.
It’s about time! After two years of waiting on the State to make a move after NJ residents overwhelmingly voted to pass medical marijuana in the state, the registry has finally gone live! State Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd was the center of attention as the much anticipated medical marijuana registry went into action. About 150 doctors around the state who have registered for the program have had access to the website for a couple of months now in order to familiarize themselves with the process. August 13th was the first day potential patients were able to log on. Although NJ is only allowing patients with debiliating, life-threatening illnesses become patients, we can only hope that future legislation allows ALL patients to participate.
Thanks to TYT for posting this video — From the video description:
“In what could be a turning point in the city’s seemingly unending battle to regulate the distribution of medical marijuana, the Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to ban all pot dispensaries, while also opening the door to possibly let some remain. Under the ban, all of the 762 dispensaries registered in the city will be sent letters ordering them to shut down immediately. Those that don’t comply may face legal action from the city…”.* Is this connected to the federal crackdown from the Obama Administration? Cannabis cures, so why are we still arguing over it?
Studies on medical marijuana continue to be made that disprove the reasoning by the DEA to classify cannabis as a Schedule I drug with no medical benefit. Here is another video discussing how more studies continue to show that cannabis treats chronic pain. Unfortunately, the individuals reporting the story don’t seem to know all that much about cannabis to the fact that they don’t question WHY IT WAS MADE ILLEGAL. News flash, news reporters – MARIJUANA WAS NOT MADE ILLEGAL FOR ITS CHEMICAL PROPERTIES!

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A California appeals court has struck down Los Angeles County’s ban on medical marijuana dispensaries.
The 4th District Court of Appeal ruled Monday that because the state’s medical marijuana laws authorize cooperatives and collectives to grow, store and distribute pot, a lower court judge erred when she cited the 2010 ban in granting the county an injunction against the Alternative Medicinal Cannabis Collective last year.
However, the decision does not mean the coast is clear for the Covina dispensary. The Court of Appeal says even though L.A. County can’t outlaw pot shops completely, local lawmakers still can limit where they locate require them to obtain operating permits and business licenses.
Federal prosecutors also have cracked down by moving to seize the building that houses Alternative Medicinal Cannabis.
